About Me

My name is Rachelle Bauerle, and I am a Democrat running for Madison County Clerk Recorder. 

I was born and raised in Granite City, Illinois and received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SIUE in 2006. I currently live in Edwardsville, Illinois with my husband and two children. I have served as an election judge since 2020. 

As a near lifelong resident of Madison County, I am motivated to see things change in a positive direction. I believe our elected officials work for us and, as much, have a responsibility to act as public servants to all constituents and be good stewards of our public funds. Our policies and procedures should reflect what is best for the people of Madison County and no one in the county should be in the dark about what is going on. Important information should be easy to find and understand because an engaged community is a strong community. 

Why Did I Decide to Run For County Clerk-Recorder?

First, as a Madison County resident, I have been frustrated by the lack of choices on the ballot over the last few election cycles. Too often, we see candidates running unopposed or no one running for an open seat. Is it truly a democracy if you don’t have a choice? Beyond that, my experience as an election judge is what motivated me to run. I have a special place in my heart for our elections, and I want to help ensure that they run smoothly and efficiently every time. No more costly mistakes. We need a deep investment into getting people involved, especially younger people. Lastly, I believe that all of our elected officials should have a public servant mindset, doing what is best for the people of Madison County first and foremost.
